But have suggested that Arsenal are ‘prepared’ to sell the 27-year-old who has struggled to hold down a regular starting place.

Turkish giants Galatasaray have extra funds available having qualified for this season’s Champions League.

And they are reportedly eyeing up former Manchester United forward Welbeck, who has also been linked with Everton and Southampton this summer.

Welbeck has made just 45 Premier League starts in four years since joining from Old Trafford with a number of lengthy spells on the sidelines stopping him in his tracks.

Despite the attraction of a fresh start, Champions League football and regular first team football, Welbeck remains happy at Arsenal and has no intention of playing in Turkey.

New Arsenal boss Unai Emery has also dampened rumours Welbeck will be leaving the North London club having been impressed with his versatility when he first joined over the summer.

Speaking after their first week together, he said: “I said to Danny when he arrived with us after the holidays, I want the best performance of his career and he should work for that.”

After the close of the English transfer window, Emery also said only three players would be allowed to depart – Carl Jenkinson, David Ospina and Joel Campbell.
