ARSENAL'S Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the butt of jokes on Twitter after an embarrassing miss against Chelsea.
With the score at 1-0 to the Blues in the London derby, the Gunners striker was presented with a gilt-edged chance to open his account for the season.
Hector Bellerin was the provider, sneaking in behind Marcos Alonso and pulling off a perfect pass back for his teammate.
But instead of seeing the net bulging, Arsenal fans were left with heads in hands as the Gabon international lashed wildly over from six yards out - and how costly it proved with Marcos Alonso sealing a 3-2 Chelsea win late on.
To make matters a whole lot worse, just 55 seconds later Chelsea raced up the other end and Alvaro Morata, apparently short of confidence of late, rolled home for 2-0.
Cue plenty of social media reaction as fans tried to get their head around what had just happened.

Fortunately Aubameyang’s teammates spared his blushes before half-time as Henrikh Mkhitaryan first missed a sitter himself before then pulling a goal back from 20 yards.
And goalscorer turned provider as Mkhitaryan played in Alex Iwobi to equalise on 41 minutes.
Aubameyang even then had another chance to make amends before the break but scuffed his effort from eight yards wide.
He probably wasn’t the most popular individual in the changing room at the break.
