Aston Villa turn to Liverpool ace Sheyi Ojo with Yannick Bolasie not willing to drop into Championship

Liverpool midfielder is free to leave on loan for the season and Villa boss Steve Bruce wants to add "one or two" players to his ranks

ASTON VILLA will launch a loan bid for Liverpool's Sheyi Ojo, according to reports.

The Championship promotion hopefuls had initially looked at an audacious swoop to land Everton's Yannick Bolasie.

But the Congo international is not willing to drop down divisions and wants to fight his way into the Toffees's first-team following his injury hell.

Boss Steve Bruce has now turned his intentions to the talented midfielder with the Reds keen for him to gain further experience, reports the Birmingham Mail.

Ojo, 21, spent last season on loan at Fulham and played a key role in their promotion to the Premier League.

Boss Jurgen Klopp has already admitted it would "make sense for him to go on loan."

Villa are undefeated in their first three matches with two wins and a draw but Bruce is still looking to add to his ranks before the loan deadline at the end of the month.

Following the side's 1-1 draw at Ipswich, Bruce said: "It’s very difficult to get players in (from the Premier League),

“We have to be realistic and hope we can sign one or two from the bigger clubs.

“We couldn’t sign Axel Tuanzebe, for example, but down the line, hopefully we can.
