BAYERN MUNICH president Uli Hoeness has launched a sensational rant towards Mesut Ozil and claimed "it's a miracle" he's now captain at Arsenal.
Hoeness has reignited the fierce rivalry that was sparked after Ozil quit the Germany national side after accusing bosses of racism.
The 29-year-old decided to call it a day following a furious backlash after posing with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Hoeness had already blasted Ozil for "hiding" in Germany's doomed campaign that saw them crash out in the group stages.
And now he has stuck the knife in again, claiming he should have sent out a statement apologising for meeting Erdogan.
In a incredible rant, Hoeness told Sky Sport Germany: "We would have been spared the whole theatre,
"Ozil should have been forced to make a statement. But leaving that without explanation was probably the biggest mistake ever.
"I've been watching the player for a long time and he's a well-marketed product whose image is a lot better than he is, which is the only big blame for me.
"Had [Germany coach Joachim] Low gone to Arsenal more often in London and looked at him properly, he probably would not have taken him for sporting reasons.
"It is a miracle that he is now captain at Arsenal."
Emery made Ozil one of five captains at the club along with Aaron Ramsey, Petr Cech, Granit Xhaka and Laurent Koscielny.

He was hooked off in the 68th minute of the 3-2 defeat at Chelsea on Sunday having failed to make an impact in the opening two Premier League matches.
German FA president Reinhard Grindel jumped to Ozil's defence following the racism scandal and conceded he should have had backed the Arsenal man more publicly.
He told Bild: "I should have positioned myself more clearly given the racist attacks from some corners and I should have put myself in front of Mesut Ozil.
"Such attacks are unacceptable. I should have found clear words. I am sorry he feels let down by the DFB.
"It was always clear for me that we win together and we lose together. It would be absurd to blame one single player for our elimination."
