UNDER-FIRE defender Dedryck Boyata silenced his critics as he made an instant impact on his Celtic return – netting the winner against Hamilton.
The Belgium defender has incensed Bhoys supporters in recent weeks after he ruled himself out of action, insisting he was injured, as he pushed for a move away from Parkhead.
Hoops boss Brendan Rogers refuted the defender’s claims, admitting he was very “sad” at the ongoing situation.
And some Celtic fans made their feelings clear on the whole episode, unveiling a banner titled ‘Boyata not fit to wear the Jersey’ at Parkhead on Sunday.
However, that didn’t seem to affect the 27-year-old’s performance, as his close-range finish sealed all three points for Rodgers’ men on his first outing of the season.
The Bhoys, who lie second in the SPL with two wins and a defeat so far, were steady but unspectacular as they issued the perfect response to their 1-0 defeat at Hearts.
