Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce confirms Tammy Abraham interest ahead of 5pm transfer deadline
Chelsea striker would add much needed goals as Villans try to mount a promotion charge following their play-off heartbreak
STEVE BRUCE has confirmed he will try and push through a loan deal for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham today.
The Aston Villa boss wants the ace to add goals to his strike force as he bids for a return to the Premier League.
And he is aiming to play him alongside in-form Jonathan Kodjia with the pair having a brief but effective spell a Bristol City two years ago.
Bruce says 20-year-old Abraham - who SunSport revealed as a target - is on his wanted list.
He explained: “I wouldn’t want to comment on specific names, but he is one we’re looking at."
Bruce is not optimistic about French defender Harold Moukoudi, however.
There could still be a late U-turn, but the signs are that the 20-year-old will not sign for Villa.

Bruce added: “I think Moukoudi will stay in France.
“He’s a bit reluctant because he’s still young. That’s the impression I get.
“We’re down the line with a centre-forward because that’s the area we’re keen on, so we’ll see what happens."
