But Arsenal remain poor defensively as they bid to bring in a new pressing style and keeper Petr Cech struggled throughout while attempting to play the ball out from the back.

Lacazette reckons it will take time and teething problems are inevitable.

The former Lyon striker, whose team have won twice and lost to Chelsea and Manchester City, said: “We are learning a lot but the manager says we will concede goals.

"We just make mistakes because we are learning like children. So it is okay, it is good. We will be better week after week.

“Overall it has been good even we had two losses. They were against the two champions of the past two seasons. Everyone can take pleasure to watch us play.”

Arsenal’s first game after the international break is an away clash at Newcastle on September 15 before four successive home games, two in the Premier League, one in the Europa League and a tie in the Carabao Cup.

Asked if the win in South Wales could help psychologically, Lacazette said: “Yes it is good and important to win away.

"When we started the game against Cardiff, it was like, ‘Okay we can now play like we do at home’.

“It is good for the confidence. This season we want to be better away and it was the first game we won and I hope that it will be the first of many until the last day of the season.”

Lacazette grabbed the winner in what was his first start of the season.

Asked whether he has done enough to feature more regularly, he said: “It is not because of one game that I will play every game.

"Every day I have to work hard and well and show the coach that I work well and that I deserve to be in the team. I am at one of the best clubs in the world.”
