MESUT OZIL has no route back into the Germany team, boss Joachim Low has said.
The Arsenal midfielder, 29, retired from international football in July after his side crashed out of the World Cup and he claimed he had been the victim of racist discrimination.
The playmaker – of Turkish decent – felt he was unfairly targeted by the head of the German FA over a photo with taken with the president of Turkey.
The lengthy statement Ozil released seemed to suggest he would return if sweeping changes were made to the running of the national team.
But Low has distanced himself from any reunion with a short statement to .
Ahead of his side’s Sunday friendly with Peru, Low said: “In my view, Mesut Ozil has clearly declared his resignation and closed the door with it himself. A comeback is therefore not an issue at all.”
When the Germany squad for the two upcoming games was announced last week, the 58-year-old coach gave a more thorough explanation of the situation.
The 2014 World Cup winner said he had repeatedly tried to contact the Gunners man but had been ignored.
He said: "Mesut did not call me, not to this very day.
“I tried to reach him several times in the past two weeks, via text message, via phone.
"Mesut has decided to take this path. I must accept it.
"Ozil has been my player for nine years. We've experienced a lot together. A few lows, but more highs.
We've won the World Cup. This will still stay forever.
"I am still of the opinion that he was one of the best players we had in Germany in the last 20, 30 years.
“One day, we'll have a conversation. I would have wished for him to inform me personally and I was disappointed at first."
