MANCHESTER UNITED’s wage bill is set to push the £300million mark.
Jose Mourinho’s side will be confirmed as big-spenders on salaries despite struggling in the transfer market.
Alexis Sanchez’s arrival and a return to the Champions League means an increase on wages when the club’s financial figures for 2017/18 get announced this month.
Sanchez, who arrived in January, gets £505,000-a-week after arriving when his Arsenal contract was running down.
The figures will also include Romelu Lukaku’s arrival from Everton, although Wayne Rooney left the club during that period.
United players automatically got a wage boost when they returned to the Premier League after winning the Europa League, which will also account for the United getting close to the £300million mark.
Their results released last year showed they were the first club to break the £250million barrier for wages and they are expected to rise this season.
And despite failing to win the title since since 2013, they are still kings of cash in the Premier League.
They are expected to be close to last year’s record £581.2million annual revenue which helped make them top of Deloitte Football Money League.
United will also pocket around £10million more on the Champions League market pool as they qualified from their Prem finish, rather than Europa glory.
