Tottenham ‘could be made to play whole Premier League season at Wembley’
TOTTENHAM could be forced by the Premier League to play home games at Wembley for the rest of the season, according to reports.
Delays have hit the construction of Spurs' new home, forcing them to reschedule fixtures and play at the national stadium, with fears the ground may not be finished until after Christmas.
Their report adds that Premier League bosses are growing frustrated at the ongoing issues.
And with the changes affecting fans, rival clubs and broadcasters, a forced stay at Wembley could follow.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy - who it is claimed has been warned about the possibility of staying at Wembley all season - has apologised that the clash with Manchester City will be moved to the ground - a day later than scheduled.
The Citizens want Spurs to pay for away fans’ travel to Wembley as they try to put on free busses for their fans.
Spurs are hoping to play their Carabao Cup game with Watford at MK Dons in a move that has annoyed sections of their own support.
The North Londoners are still hopeful of moving into the £850million new home before they host the Clarets, however.
White Hart Lane could host the clash against local rivals Chelsea on Saturday November 24.
But it is claimed there could be a point in the near future where the Premier League board intervene.
In such circumstances it is alleged they will insist that the venue for Tottenham's home games is confirmed for the rest of the season.
