Former AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi is reportedly set to buy Italian third-tier side Monza

SILVIO BERLUSCONI is reportedly closing in on a takeover of Serie C side Monza.
The 81-year-old sold his majority stake in AC Milan in April 2017, but he is in line for a stunning return to football with the Italian third division club.
Berlusconi and ex-Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani are poised to take a 70 per cent stake in the club which is located just over 12 miles away from Milan.
Speaking yesterday, Galliani - who was born in Monza - confirmed that the duo are interested in buying the club.
He said: "The idea is there, but nothing is defined yet. Monza is definitely a romantic idea after selling Milan.
"The President lives 3km from Monza [in Arcore], and I was born in the city. I lived there and trained as a football director."
Current club Monza president Nicola Colombo is familiar with both Berlusconi and Galliani, as he is the son of former Milan president Felice Colombo.
Colombo has revealed that negotiations are underway, and has stressed his excitement at the ambitions of getting his club into the Italian top-flight.
He said: "As AC Milan's history shows, Berlusconi is not playing to compete but to win, so the Serie A race could become a realistic goal."
