Leroy Sane released from Germany squad for ‘personal reasons’ after talks with boss Joachim Low
The Manchester City winger was recently accused of not caring if he wins or loses by German team-mate Toni Kroos
MANCHESTER CITY winger Leroy Sane has been released from the Germany squad over 'personal reasons' following talks with Joachim Low.
The 22-year-old came on as a late substitute in the 0-0 draw against France in the Uefa Nations League last night, but will not feature against Peru on Sunday.
A Twitter statement from the 2014 World Cup winners said: "Following discussions with head coach Joachim Low, Leroy Sane has left the team hotel in Munich for private reasons and will not be available for #GERPER."
It is understood that the ex-Schalke ace has left the squad with his partner expected to give birth imminently.
Citizens star Sane was recently accused of not caring if he wins or loses by German team-mate Toni Kroos.
The Real Madrid midfielder said of the pacey forward: "You can look at him and not know if he has won or lost, that it doesn’t seem that important to him.
"It’s about body language and he has to improve this.
“Leroy was fantastic for City last year but Pep has the same problem at the moment — he’s trying to get the best out of him so he can perform better."
Before adding: "Leroy has everything you need to be world-class but sometimes you have to tell him he has to perform better.”
Sane - who was a notable omission from Germany's World Cup squad in Russia this summer - was left out of the City squad that beat Newcastle before the international break.
