MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho is considering a January swoop for Mesut Ozil, according to reports.
The Arsenal playmaker played for the Special One at Real Madrid, where the pair did not enjoy the best relationship.
But the claims United are plotting a winter raid on their top-six rivals.
Ozil scored in the 2-1 victory over Newcastle yesterday but has struggled to produce consistent performances.
And Unai Emery has urged the £350,000-a-week ace to keep justifying his monstrous wage packet.
He said: “His quality helps the team, it is important he scored.

“I want not only for him to assist we need him to go in the box and score like today.
“I will work with every player and continue our process to create the team as we want."
Mourinho was left fuming over the summer as Diogo Dalot, Fred and Lee Grant were the only new faces at Old Trafford.
And the pressure may be on Ed Woodward to seal some deals in the winter window, where players often come at premium prices.
