Moore said: "He's been in training and that's where we are at the moment. We've just been having a look. He's wanted to come in and train and we've had a look at his fitness.

"I'm not just speaking on Bakary's behalf, but there are other players. It's quite surprising really. Other clubs are looking at players and we're no different here at West Brom should the right ones present themselves.

"It's lovely to have him in with us here."

Sako will reportedly sign a deal similar to that of Wes Hoolahan, who was released by Norwich last season after ten years at Carrow Road.

It is believed the Irishman's contract runs until the end of 2018.

Sako made 19 appearances for the Eagles last season, with game time limited by Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend's form, and scored six goals before he left following three years at Selhurst Park.

But Palace manager Roy Hodgson confirmed the star turned down a new contract as the club survived relegation under the former England boss.

Hodgson said in July: "No, he is not signing, he doesn’t want to sign.

“I guess he will be moving on, I don’t know, the last I heard was that he had turned down the offer of a contract that we had made to him, so that’s the last I have.”

But it was at West Brom's arch-rivals Wolves that the Malian first made a name for himself in England.

His 36 goals in 111 league appearances for the Molineux club earned him a move to the Premier League in 2015, signing for Palace on a free transfer.
