Tottenham’s new stadium is a still building site in latest images as chief engineer reveals reason behind huge delays
THE latest pictures from Tottenham's new stadium show it's STILL a building site, despite being weeks overdue already.
However, chief engineer Nick Cooper has revealed the reason behind the huge delays - blaming the club's ambition.
Despite the lengthy wait for fans, Cooper said supporters should be patient as the stadium will turn out to be "the greatest that’s ever been built".
Cooper told the BBC: “We’ve tried to do something in double time.
“If you look at any other project of this nature you wouldn’t have achieved as much as we’ve achieved with the stadium.
“Be patient with us, we understand the frustrations. [It will be] the greatest that’s ever been built.”
Meanwhile, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he has been assured the ground will be completed by the end of 2018.
Poch said: “I am confident this year. I had a private conversation with Daniel.
“I think they are confident. They are working hard to try to find the solution.
“I hope before the year ends, before Christmas, we can play. That’s my wish.”
