Real Madrid ban Vinicius from playing for Brazil at the South American Under-20s Championships

Brazilian starlet Vinicius joined the Spanish giants in the summer for £40million

REAL MADRID are continuing their war with international teams by banning Vinicius Junior from playing at the South American Under-20 Championships.

The 18-year-old forward moved the the Bernabeu from Brazilian side Flamengo for a reported fee of £40million.

Two years ago, Vinicius was top scorer as Brazil's Under 17s won the South American Championships and he was voted Best Player.

Yet, according to , Spanish giants Madrid have banned him from playing at the tournament next year.

The Championships are being held in Chile and will run from January 20 to February 13.

Vinicius is not the first Galactico to feel the pressure against representing their country.

Real bosses had made it clear that they were unhappy at the prospect of Gareth Bale featuring for Wales in the Tuesday's game against Ireland.

Dragons boss Ryan Giggs suggested he would face scrutiny from the Spanish capital.

He said before the game: "Our medical team are constantly in dialogue with Madrid.

"We don't want to take any risks and we're monitoring it every day. We will give him every chance for Tuesday.

"He's 50-50 at the moment for the Ireland game. Either way, I expect him to be fit for the next game for Madrid."
