Mesut Ozil’s wife Amine Gulse is a model and former Miss Turkey who survived horror mugging with ex-Arsenal star
TO be Mesut Ozil.
There's no doubt about the former Arsenal playmaker's talent - he's supremely gifted on the ball.
But the German World Cup winner has struggled for form and fitness since moving to Turkey from North London.
In 2019, the former German international got married to his stunning girlfriend, Amine Gulse - with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan his best man.
And he even managed to raise a smile at one point during the ceremony.
But she was left shaken in July 2019 when muggers armed with knives attacked husband Ozil's car.
Luckily however, former team-mate Sead Kolasinac leapt from the vehicle and fought them off with his bare hands.
Gulse is a star in her own right, winning Miss Turkey 2014 and later representing her country that same year in the Miss World beauty pageant.
However, she was originally born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden by a Iraqi Turkmen father and Turkish mother.
The blue eyed brunette then moved to Istanbul, where she began scoring regular model work.
It was in 2014 when she got her big break - competing and winning the Miss Turkey pageant.
Her gorgeous looks weren't enough to persuade Miss World judges to give her a placing in their competition in Las Vegas, but it was enough to make her a star in her own country.
Gulse, 28, met Ozil that same year and he was instantly smitten.
Still modelling and shooting a variety of fashion campaigns, the 5'10" stunner has also branched out into acting.
She starred in popular TV Asla Vazgeçmem - a drama about love in which she played the lead female role from 2015.
Their romance had to be long-distance, with Gulse dividing her time between Istanbul and London for work commitments, before he sealed a move to Turkey.
And with that being a four hour flight away, it can't be easy for these lovebirds.
The two regularly show how much they care about one another - they were spied once going for a romantic bike ride in London.
Ozil, who accused the German FA of treating him with "racism and disrespect", also got the love and support of his missus when he decided to retire from international football.
She posted a selfie of the couple to her two million followers on Instagram with the message: “I am always with you, I am proud of you my love.”
