Mesut Ozil reveals Matteo Guendouzi is Arsenal’s best young player, calling him ‘brilliant’

MESUT OZIL has revealed highly talented midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is the best young talent at Arsenal.

The 19-year-old has wasted no time in impressing his team-mates and supporters after signing for the Gunners this summer in a £7million deal.

Guendouzi was playing in the French second division with Lorient last season but has barely put a foot wrong in stepping up to the Premier League.

And in-form Ozil believes the Frenchman has a long and bright future at the Emirates.

During an '#AskMesut' Twitter Q&A, one supporter asked: "In your opinion, who is the best young talent in the squad at the moment?"

Ozil, 30, responded: "Matteo Guendouzi! Brilliant player!"

Guendouzi's performances are continuing to thrive under the leadership of boss Unai Emery.

The Spaniard has found a winning formula after Arsenal have picked up 10 wins in all competitions on the bounce.

Ozil has been integral to the club's form and even wore the captain's armband in the 3-1 win over Leicester.

When asked about his feelings in leading out the side, Ozil responded: "Amazing feeling! It made me really proud against Leicester!"

He also revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo was the best player he has played alongside and Lionel Messi is the greatest player he has played against.

Ozil also claimed that he would not rule out a future transfer to play in Turkey.
