Chelsea player ratings: Ruben Loftus Cheek steals the show with hat-trick to sink BATE in Europa League

RUBEN LOFTUS-CHEEK proved his point to Maurizio Sarri with superb hat-trick.

Blues boss Sarri had given Loftus-Cheek just 99 minutes of action - but handed him just a second start of the season against BATE in the Europa League tonight.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Had nothing to do all night except pick the ball out of his goal.

Will be sorely disappointed with the way Chelsea conceded an easy goal.

Davide Zappacosta

The perfect game for the maurauding Italian.

Zappacosta didn't have to break a sweat defensively and was free to get forwrd as much as he wanted - great turn and cross for the opener.

Gary Cahill

Had one moment in 90mins where he was called into action, standing up against Nikolai Signevich and shepherding himn out of danger.

The goal is a black spot, however, as captain Cahill should be ensuring those kind of lapses don't happen.

Andreas Christensen

Easy night for the defender who has made noise about wanting to play more.

Will have felt as if he didn't play, such was the lack of BATE threat.

Emerson Palmieri

Not quite as dangerous as his opposite full-back but Emerson got up and down the wing well.

Kept his shape and always offered an option out wide.

Cesc Fabregas

Unbelievably, was allowed to do whatever he wanted by BATE.

Ran the show in the middle with his intricate passing - the only continued black spot was his inability to cover grond when Chelsea occasiionaly lost the ball.

Mateo Kovacic

Great stuff from the Croatian, who was always making triangles in attack and diligent doing his defensive work.

He'll face harder nights but did everything that was asked.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

This was a glimpse of the promise and the talent that has had Blues fans excited for years.

Even if you forget the goals - please don't - Loftus-Cheek was a beautiful bludgeon in midfield, powering forward in an utterly dominant night.

Willian

Didn't get out of first gear. Didn't need to.

The Brazilian was clearly saving himself for tougher tests to come.

Pedro

A livewire of energy, as ever, Pedro offered more threat than Willian.

He'll hope he did enough to force his way back into the team at the weekend.

Olivier Giroud

Was gutted not to get on the scoresheet, forcing a brilliant save from Denis Scherbitski in the second-half.

The striker's touches were as deft as ever while he was far too big and strong for his defenders to handle.

A very disappointing night for a player who needed to show a bit more.

His touches were sloppy and a couple of chances were wasted when the ball dropped his way.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Another thrilling sight for the Chelsea fans in attendance.

Every time the teenager picked up the ball there was a rush of excitement - hopefully he has a big future at Stamford Bridge.

N'Golo Kante

Came on late with the game already put to bed.

But Kante was caught cold for the goal, a rare lack of concentration from the Frenchman.
