Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirms Naby Keita and Jordan Henderson will miss Arsenal clash
JORDAN HENDERSON and Naby Keita have been ruled out of tomorrow’s clash with Arsenal - but Mohamed Salah is set to play through the pain of an injured wrist. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the midfield duo have lost their battles to face the Gunners at the Emirates.
Henderson was substituted during the 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town last month after feeling tightness, while Keita sustained a similar injury while playing for Guinea.
Klopp said: “Hendo feels really good but probably start of the week he will back in training.
“Naby, end of this week - it doesn’t make a big difference match-wise but that’s how it looks.”
But the Reds have been boosted by the news Salah will be available for the tea-time trip to North London after been pictured wearing a wrist splint in training this week.
Klopp added: “Mo, it’s nothing really serious, it’s a kind of inflammation in the tendon and that’s pretty much all.
“The pictures you saw (he wore) only protection.”
His midfielders are recovering at the expected rate but Klopp has been frustrated by the packed schedule.
He added: “In football, a not too serious injury takes still two, three, four weeks.
"We were lucky to have an injury like that. It only means, in the Premier League, 20 games.
“They are completely on time, it’s like we expected it. We didn’t have to rush it - we couldn’t but there was no reason for trying it.
“If the next game would be next Friday then they would probably both be fit but the next game is on Saturday and then Tuesday so it could be a bit tight.”
