GARY NEVILLE has slammed the FA for appealing against the dropped charge brought against Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
The Special One, 55, was cleared of swearing in Portuguese at the TV following a win over Newcastle earlier this season.
But now the FA have opted to appeal the charge, meaning Mourinho could yet find himself in hot water.
Now United legend Neville, 43, has torn into the governing body, taking to Twitter to call the decision a "joke".
Neville wrote: "The FA appealing against the Mourinho decision is a joke. Who has signed that off?"
Simao Valente, assistant Professor at the University of Lisbon, translated Mourinho's rant and found it meant: “Go take it in the a***, sons of the w****”.
However, he also suggested "“F*** off you sons of b****es” or “F*** off you a********" as an alternative.
The Manchester United boss denied the abusive language charge which saw him facing a touchline ban - and was subsequently cleared.
But FA disciplinary chiefs have now read the written reasons for the decision, which they do not accept.
And for the first time the FA has decided it will appeal a disciplinary verdict, asking for a new independent panel to sit and hear the evidence again.
