Gary Neville blasts Manchester United midfielder for not living up to his pricetag at Old Trafford

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Gary Neville has revealed he has been disappointed by Fred this season as he struggles to live up to his hefty price tag.
The 25-year-old has flattered to deceive at Old Trafford since joining from Skakhtar Donetsk in the summer for £50million - appearing in just seven Premier League games.
Fred - who has netted just once this campaign - was an unused substitute in the recent 3-1 defeat against rivals Manchester City.
And Neville believes that Jose Mourinho may have overpaid for the Brazilian midfielder's signature as he fails to hit the heights at the Theatre of Dreams.
Speaking on the , the 43-year-old said: "Fred at £50m, he started the first game of the season and he looked bright, he looked tidy - but does he look like what you would expect for £50m?
"Does he change a game? Does it look like he’s going to defend your goal? Does it look like he’s going to connect back-to-front? At this moment in time, no."

The former Valencia boss however does believe that Fred can still come good for United - who are currently languishing in eighth spot in the table.
He added: "He is still developing.
"He’s still getting used to Manchester United and he’s coming into a very difficult position in the sense that the club aren’t the most stable at this moment in time in terms of their performance levels and the scrutiny that’s been on the club in the past three or four months.
"So, I wouldn’t put it all onto Fred but you have to ask the question, where was he [on Sunday] in that central midfield?”
