Guillou, who works for beIN Sports, had criticised Ribery for his mistakes in the critical loss.

Eyewitnesses claimed Ribery pushed and slapped the journalist.

Ribery has now announced he was "sorry" and "wrong", also revealing he had set up a meeting with Guillou to apologise face-to-face.

In a video posted on the Bayern website, Ribery said: "I've had an appointment with Patrick Guillou and it was good that he came to Munich.

"We talked together for a long time and about what happened after the match in Dortmund.

"Of course, what I did was wrong. After the match, I was very emotional.

"I said sorry to Patrick and his family yesterday. And I hope that we can leave this behind – that's why this meeting was important for him and for me."

It is not yet clear if Ribery will face further action, with Bayern insisting they are dealing with the matter internally.

Following the 3-2 defeat on Saturday night, reigning champions Bayern are now seven points behind their rivals, lounging in fifth place.
