Manchester United join Chelsea in race for for West Ham contract rebel Declan Rice

Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with the out-of-contract teenager

MANCHESTER UNITED are the latest club to register an interest in signing West Ham youngster Declan Rice, reports claim.

The 19-year-old is out-of-contract at the end of the current season and is yet to commit his future to the Hammers.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund are all understood to be keen on the teenager.

And according to , United have made their interest known to West Ham officials.

Though United have struggled in defence this season, Rice has established himself as a holding midfielder during the 2018-19 campaign.

All of his 12 appearances this season for Manuel Pellegrini's men have come in that role though he could yet return to the back later in his career.

SunSport understand West Ham offered Rice a new deal worth £15,000-a-week - a 400 per cent increase on his current contract.

That proposal is said to have been rejected, with the offer well below the wage earned by his teammates.

But earlier this month he confirmed his desire to remain at the London Stadium.

Former England midfielder Jamie Redknapp expects the large group of clubs keen on his services to also include Manchester City, who he expects will already be monitoring the player.
