Paul Pogba quitting Manchester United would be best for both parties as Jose Mourinho ‘suffocates him’, says Paul Ince

Midfielder has been linked with January exit and Ince believes the time is right for Red Devils to cash in

PAUL POGBA should leave Manchester United in January as it would be best for both him and the club.

That’s according to Paul Ince, who believes Pogba is being “suffocated” by Jose Mourinho and is behind a lot of the negativity at Old Trafford.

Paul Pogba’s potential Man Utd exit would be beneficial for all parties

Pogba has been tipped to leave United in January after a reported bust-up with the Special One earlier this season.

The French World Cup winner was stripped of the vice-captaincy.

And his lacklustre performances in midfield have seen even the fans begin to turn against him.

The likes of Barcelona and former side Juventus have been linked with making bids in the next window.

And Ince believes Pogba’s exit would be beneficial for him and the Red Devils.

Ince told Paddy Power: “I believe a Pogba move away from United would suit both parties. He’s never settled on his return to the club.

“He’s been inconsistent in his performances and there’s always been transfer talk surrounding him.

“Some of those rumours have come from his camp too. He’s one of those players, as long as he’s at United, there’s trouble and talk.

Paul Pogba mocks his penalty run - but does reveal he is faster than a turtle!

“His personality is to stir up rumours – like getting in a picture with Lionel Messi. He’s an attention-seeker, he wants people to talk about him.

“The drama reminds me of Eric Cantona, but he was too good to get rid of. I’m not saying he’s Cantona, but if Pogba plays at a top level then no-one will care about the drama.

“We know he’s a fantastic player. I don’t think we can blame him for the fact he’s been suffocated by Jose Mourinho. It’s clear when he’s given some freedom to play, he’s world class.

“But he’s been stifled at United and often played in the wrong way. He’s part of the constant negativity that’s coming out of Old Trafford. It wouldn’t surprise me if the money was right United would let him go.”
