JAMIE CARRAGHER has opened up about his relationship with Gary Neville.
The duo have struck up an unlikely bond working together as pundits on Sky Sports.
That’s despite Carragher playing for Liverpool, while Neville was Manchester United through-and-through.
The pair clashed numerous times on the pitch, but post-retirement life has taken a different turn.
Carragher and Neville are often filmed laughing and joking together, despite their teams being the greatest of enemies.
And the Merseyside man has now shed life on their new bond, admitting that things are very different from how they were all those years ago.
He told Granada Reports: “When he was playing I didn’t like him. I think we were both very similar in what we were for our clubs.
“We weren’t the superstar player. We were the solid citizens of our clubs. [Best buddies?] That’s certainly not the case!
“He went into punditry a few years before me. He’s been a revelation, absolutely brilliant.
“We were put together and I wouldn’t say we had much of a relationship before that. As players we mixed at England but not too much. Now we do, we’re never off the phone to each other!”
