ARSENAL'S hopes of nabbing Juan Mata at the end of the season have reportedly taken a huge boost.
The Manchester United ace currently has just a year left to run on his deal at Old Trafford, though the Spaniard is in talks with the club about extending his stay.
However it has been claimed that Unai Emery's side are keen on luring the World Cup winner to the Emirates.
The Gunners boss worked with Mata during their time at Valencia, and is understood to be in the market for another attacking midfielder.
According to , the 30-year-old will not commit to his future at the Theatre of Dreams just yet, and is prepared to wait before making a final decision.
Mata is free to talk to foreign clubs in January, leaving United under pressure to tie him down to a new deal.

JUAN MATA has been left in the dark over a new deal at Old Trafford and a fresh start could be perfect for the little Spaniard.
And there would be no better place for him to do it than at Arsenal - with his former boss Unai Emery.
Tactically astute, an eye for a pass, a Champions League winner and an all-round nice guy, Arsenal fans would love to see Mata at the Emirates.
And, for the player, a chance to break free from the shackles of Jose Mourinho and play some genuine attacking football.
Manchester United may untimately do their utmost to keep him... but this could be a match made in heaven.

Though they do claim that Mata would like to stay at United, where he has made 199 appearances since joining from Chelsea in January 2014.
Arsenal have been long-term admirers of the little magician, having failed to bring him to North London in 2011 as he signed for the Blues instead.
Mata has impressed this season under Jose Mourinho - chipping in with three goals and one assist in 13 games in all competitions.
He will be vying to start against Crystal Palace on Saturday as United look to climb up the Premier League table.
