Jose Mourinho's men failed to beat struggling Crystal Palace to drop further away from top four
JOSE Mourinho's men failed to beat a struggling Crystal Palace side with a goalless draw at Old Trafford.
Here, SunSports rates and slates Mourinho's men as they struggled to a 0-0 draw.
Rarely troubled throughout but made a wonderful double save in the second half with Cheikhou Kouyate’s long-range shot and Patrick van Aanholt’s follow up.
Brought in amid a shuffle to cover for the suspended Luke Shaw, Darmian showed a rustiness. The Italian galloped forward well but had little end product and brought uncertainty to the defence.
Terrified of Wilfred Zaha’s threat throughout and never really got near the former United man. Provided a dangerous threat from set pieces but should have scored with an early header.

JOSE MOURINHO may just need another wish at the top of his Christmas list.
Manchester United’s manager is aiming to see his side in a Champions League position by the time Big Ben’s bells chime on December 31.
But having failed to score against a beleaguered Crystal Palace side at Old Trafford, Mourinho may just be hoping for a bit much this year.
They have a bunch of winnable games on the horizon... but using this lethargic performance as a gauge, it remains one mighty task.

Struggled with Palace’s physical presence from set-pieces, and was almost punished when he got the wrong side of Cheikhou Kouyate whose headed goal was ruled offside.
Back on the left in Shaw’s absence, Young was back providing that dangerous delivery with his whipped crosses from the left.
Easy day for the midfielder as United dominated the midfield but it was the men beside him, the creative players, who let the home side down.
Wasteful in possession for large parts as the Frenchman made his comeback from injury. Pogba looked half fit or half interested and was replaced in the second-half.
Making his 200th appearance, Mata brought a much-needed speed to United’s play. The Spaniard’s feet may not carry him as fast as they once did but his mind makes up for it.
Took his impressive form for England back to United. Linked up well with Romelu Lukaku in the opening stages and was the host’s biggest threat throughout.
Looked lost out wide on United’s left and should have scored with a close-range header in the first-half. Was brought central in the second half.
Having not scored in 11 games for United now, the lumbering Belgian struggled with confidence once again. This was his chance to start scoring again.
Marouane Fellaini
Failed to provide the aerial problems Mourinho wanted from him late on. Like Sampson, his loss of hair may be the problem.
Marcus Rashford
Was meant to bring pace to the United team but struggled to get into the game.
Alexis Sanchez
Wasteful in possession but showed the energy and enthusiasm that Mourinho will have wanted.
