Arsenal player ratings with Lucas Torreira and Sokratris a class apart as others struggle

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG was the goal hero as he fired Arsenal to their first league win in a month against unlucky Bournemouth.

The Gunners kept up their remarkable run of scoring at least twice in every away game this season as they moved to within a point of Chelsea in fourth.

Unai Emery's side were forced to dig deep at times against a Bournemouth side who threw everything they had at their opponents - and some of his players fared better than others.

BERND LENO

Had no chance with the opening goal but looking more calm and assured in the role with every game. Dealt with a couple of snap-shots well and looks set to be the Gunners number one for a long time.

HECTOR BELLERIN

Happy going forward as a wing-back, but sloppy in possession. Did well to shackle the threat of Ryan Fraser, but should Arsenal expect a bit more from one of their senior players.

SOKRATIS

Made a brilliant last ditch interception to stop Callum Wilson getting on the end of a cross in the six yard box. Developed into the best defender Arsenal possess, and dealt well with the new England striker.

ROB HOLDING

Spent most of the first half receiving constant instructions on where to stand and when to run from Unai Emery. When that wasn't happening, was chasing either Josh King or Callum Wilson as he was exposed as Arsenal's weakpoint.

SHKODRAN MUSTAFI

Sat on the floor by one Josh King run at him, and struggled to match the pace of the game on the early stages. Never found wanting for character and commitment, but looks short of confidence.

LUCAS TORREIRA

Unlucky to see a 20-yard drive cannon back off the post. Started to make the Gunners tick with his intelligent passing and looks a class apart when he is on his game. One of the best buys of this season.

SEAD KOLASINAC

Spent final seconds before kick-off frantically asking bench how many Arsenal were playing at the back and started in a similarly confused way. Looked far happier going foward than defending and cross led to Jefferson Lerma's own goal Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's strike.

GRANIT XHAKA

Took 20 minutes to really start to influence things in midfield, and prepared to just do the donkey work while Torreira controlled the pace of the game. Played the responsible role of the captain well.

ALEX IWOBI

Started the move which led to opening goal, then saw a curling shot tipped away by Asmir Begovic.

HENRIKH MKHITARYAN

Grew in stature after Arsenal took the lead but wasted two good chances with a lack of composure, reflecting low confidence in front of goal. Spurned another opportunity to kill the game and can do more than he is giving right now.

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG

Snatched at a volley midway through the first half when he should have hit the target. Saw another good chance fly high but was there at the vital moment to slide in the second Arsenal goal.  His good form continues.
