How Henrikh Mkhitaryan threatens to ruin Unai Emery’s decision to drop Mesut Ozil, according to supporters

ARSENAL fans have found one major flaw to Unai Emery's reasoning for dropping Mesut Ozil for the 2-1 win over Bournemouth.

The Gunners boss played three at the back with Henrikh Mkhitaryan in midfield ahead of the German playmaker.

But the Armenian star put in an horrendous display and came in for fierce fan criticism as Arsenal scraped to a nervy 2-1 win.

Explaining his reasoning yesterday, Emery said: “We thought how we can be better in the match today, which is very demanding with the physicality and the intensity, but every player is important.

“[Bringing Ozil on] depended on how the match was going, how it is going in the 90 minutes, and I decided for another option.

"In the beginning of the season we were speaking every day about being organised and competitive - and it’s the same today.

“Also today we tried with three centre backs like we’ve done at some stages this season, and it’s another possibility for us to improve and find our best performance.”

But fans have hit back calling that essentially rubbish - as Ozil has no decent replacement if Emery feels the need to turn to Premier League flop Mkhitaryan.

Some fans did go on to wonder if Ozil was simply being rested for next weekend's massive North London derby, desperately hunting for a reason for his absence yesterday.
