Arsene Wenger frontrunner for Bayern Munich job after agent spotted in stands as ex-Arsenal boss eyes return

ARSENE WENGER'S agent was invited to watch Bayern Munich this weekend amidst talk of taking over at the Bundesliga giants.

The former Arsenal boss, 69, had his representative take his place in the VIP area in the stands at the Allianz Arena.

Wenger's agent was present to watch Bayern throw away a 3-1 lead to draw with Fortuna Dusseldorf - as Dodi Lukebakio scored in the 93rd-minute to seal his hat-trick.

The shock result only piled even more pressure on Niko Kovac, with rumours in Germany suggesting the Munich boss could be sacked in the Bundesliga winter break.

This season, the break in Germany will be between December 23 and January 18 - with Kovac having less than a month to save his job.

Last night, Arjen Robben and Robert Lewandowski went a ways to rescuing the Croatian boss - scoring two apiece in a 5-1 Champions League drubbing of Benfica.

However, the victory - and progression to the knockout stages in Europe - does not mask the domestic issues this season.

Bayern sit nine points adrift of Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, a lowly fifth in the table.

Earlier this week, reports in Germany claimed Wenger was tempted by the top job at the Allianz Arena.

Wenger brought down the curtain on his 22-year stint at Arsenal in the summer - replaced by Unai Emery.

However, Wenger has no intention of taking over another English side after his marathon spell at the Gunners.

The Frenchman is thought to be keen on a spell in Germany though and with Bayern struggling he appears to be edging his way to the role.
