FURIOUS Ed Woodward was shown shaking his head in the stands as Manchester United suffered a horror start against Southampton.
The Old Trafford executive vice-chairman was seething as Jose Mourinho's side went 2-0 down thanks to a wonderful free-kick from Cedric Soares and Stuart Armstrong's earlier effort.
David De Gea - who Mourinho recently referred to as "world class" - was shown shaking his head in frustration on the pitch.
And cameras caught Woodward doing likewise at St Mary's.
United fans were far from impressed with Woodward's actions.
One wrote: "Watching Ed Woodward shaking his head at United conceding a goal from a brilliant free kick. What are his football credentials again? What has he given the game?"
Another said: "Ed Woodward can shake his head all he wants but he's part of the problem at United."
One post read: "I am literally tired of this United defence! TIRED! @ManUtd.. Are you watching this from the stands Ed Woodward you t**t! See what you have done."
A fellow user posted: "Ed Woodward will just call this a dip in form. The board and manager want us to fail."
Others took delight in United's struggles - before they made it 2-2 at half-time thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Ander Herrera.
One said: "Haha Ed Woodward shaking his head great to see."
Another commented: "Ed Woodward deserves jail time."
