Arsenal are better off selling Mesut Ozil and keeping Aaron Ramsey, insists legend Ray Parlour
Welshman was brought on by Unai Emery at half-time of the North London derby and was instrumental in the Gunners victory
ARSENAL legend Ray Parlour has said Unai Emery is better off keeping Aaron Ramsey at the club and selling Mesut Ozil - rather than the other way round.
The 27-year-old was instrumental in the second half for the Gunners after being brought on - creating two goals to inspire the stunning win.
On the other hand, German playmaker was once again an absentee for the game.
Ozil, who recently became the highest earning player for the North London outfit on 350k-a-week, has missed a series of fixtures this season for various reasons.
And former midfield ace Ray Parlour, 45, has said Emery is better off without the German and with the Welshman.
Speaking on , Parlour said: “My personal decision would be that I’d rather keep Ramsey than Ozil.
“I think Aaron brings a little bit to the team.
“Mesut Ozil is a great player, I’m not doubting that, but you can leave him out. We didn’t miss him yesterday, whereas I thought Ramsey made an impact in the second half.
“Aaron has been there a long time, he’s been there for ten years, so you’ve got to look that as well.
“Some players would sulk and say, ‘I’m leaving at the end of the season, so it doesn’t really matter’, but his attitude has been spot on.
“He knows he’s leaving at the end of the season, but he was brilliant in mid-week in the Europa League.
“I would rather have Aaron Ramsey.”

Ramsey has been a loyal servant to Arsenal for over 10 years but is being let go because of the massive wages that World Cup winner Ozil is earning.
He has scored 37 goals in 248 Premier League appearances - with most of those goals coming under long-serving chief Arsene Wenger.
But he has shown good form for his Spanish boss this season and fans are pleading for him to stay at the club.
The Wales international has featured in every Premier League match for the Gunners this term - with eight of the 14 off the bench.
He has scored once and assisted six times in that period.
Arsenal and Ramsey are back in action against Man Utd at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
