ARSENAL may be favourites to sign Barcelona star Ousmane Demebele - because their head of recruitment is a big fan.
Rumours continue to swirl that the 21-year-old French World Cup winner could be heading out of the Nou Camp.
While his undoubted talent is not in question, turning up late to training and team meetings at the Spanish club has not gone down well.
Arsenal are believed to be interested in signing Dembele, but if he is made available for transfer, a whole host of Europe's biggest clubs are likely to go in for him.
But in Sven Mislintat, the Gunners' head of recruitment, Dembele already appears to have a big fan in North London.
Speaking to German newspaper , the 46-year-old, who brought him to Borussia Dortmund from Rennes when he was chief scout there in 2016, was full of praise.
He said: "I saw him, he had not even played for Rennes in the first team.
"I bet he did not know which foot he used in certain situations because he just did not think about it.
"I felt this is a really special player."
SunSport recently reported how Arsenal are planning to move for Dembele and believe Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be key to the signing.
Aubameyang moved from Borussia Dortmund at the start of the year and has got off to a flying start this season, scoring ten times in all competitions.

The Gabon star has also spoken fondly about his relationship with Alexandre Lacazette and he could well have another ally in the form of his former Dortmund pal.
Dembele has been a long-term target of Arsenal, but the Gunners have not yet managed to persuade Barcelona to let their out-of-favour forward go.
The World Cup winner has had a turbulent time during his short spell with the defending La Liga champions, but Arsenal hope that Aubameyang's successful move to London could inspire Dembele to do the same.
