, De Jong prefers a move to join Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at Parc des Princes than Manchester.

Ajax director of football Marc Overmars has slapped a £67m price tag on De Jong's head and the former Arsenal winger confirmed a PSG delegation had met with the Dutch club.

World Cup winner Mbappe remains one of De Jong's biggest admirers and has urged boss Thomas Tuchel to push the board to sign the playmaker.

Virgil van Dijk remains the most costly Dutchman of all time, after making his £75m switch from Southampton to Liverpool 11 months ago.

De Jong becomes the latest in a long line of top players to ditch Ajax in favour of more lucrative deals elsewhere.

And ever since their Champions League triumph in 1995, the Amsterdam outfit have long been known as Europe's premier selling club.

His team-mate Matthijs de Ligt, 19, has also been tipped for a big-money move abroad, possibly to the Premier League.
