JADON SANCHO dedicated a derby-day winner to his late grandmother after scoring Borussia Dortmund's decisive goal against Schalke on Saturday.
The England international made history as he became the first 18-year-old to net in the historic Ruhr clash.
And to top it off, Sancho’s 74th minute strike turned out to be decisive as Dortmund won 2-1 to remain clear at the top of the Bundesliga table.
He looked extremely emotional as he celebrated the goal.
And it later emerged that Sancho's grandmother passed away recently.
Speaking after the match, the ace revealed the goal would be dedicated in her name.
He said: “That goal was for my Grandmother, she passed away recently, it was for my family.
“It was a hard game, a derby. I know what these games are like, I’m from England.
“We need to keep performing like today and getting there points.”
Sancho has now scored five goals and assisted a further six in just eight starts.
And it’s believed the former Manchester City youngster is attracting interest from some of Europe’s best, with old boss Pep Guardiola leading the charge.
However, Dortmund have no intention of selling and believe Sancho will continue to develop in the yellow-and-black jersey.
Sporting director Michael Zorc told Bild: “Yes (he will stay at Dortmund).
“He is still a very young player and there are absolutely no signs for a transfer.”
