Sanchez works his injured hamstring with intense gym session in Chile as he battles for Man Utd return
Despite being expected to miss all of the festive fixtures, Sanchez is not resting on his laurels
ALEXIS SANCHEZ might be out injured for the festive fixtures, but he isn't putting his feet up just yet.
The Manchester United striker is currently nursing a hamstring injury - but as this video shows, he is stepping up the comeback.
Sanchez flew out to Chile to undergo treatment and physio with the national team's medical staff.
In the clip he is seen working out with a resistance band as he aims to give United boss Jose Mourinho some festive cheer.
He is expected to miss the the rest of 2018 with the injury, picked up in a training session at the end of November.
He has already missed the games against Southampton, Arsenal and Fulham, and is set to be out for the Red Devils' next FIVE games.
Valencia in the Champions League, as well as Liverpool, Cardiff City, Huddersfield Town, and Bournemouth are all set to come too soon for the former Arsenal star.
Big things were expected of the Chilean when he swapped places with Henrikh Mkhitaryan in joining from Arsenal.
But he has struggled to replicated the form he showed at the Emirates, and had scored just three goals in 12 games this season before injury.
SunSport reported how the 29-year-old let out a horror scream during the training session when he picked up the injury.
Sanchez was left writhing in agony on the pitch at United’s Carrington HQ.
Pals were distressed at the anguish as he pulled up and immediately knew he had suffered a serious problem.
Speaking about the horror incident, United boss Mourinho said at the time: “From the painful scream and the way it happened, it will be a long time."
