Five Lyon stars ready for a Premier League move and where they could end up next year
PREM clubs are plotting a raid in Lyon.
Having beaten Pep Guardiola's Manchester City earlier this season, the Ligue 1 club have shown off their talented team - and it's not gone unnoticed.
Various English teams have been connected with a move for Lyon's starlets when the transfer windows open.
And, here, SunSport runs you through the five players looking at a French connection to the Prem.
Tanguy Ndombele
MANCHESTER UNITED are believed to have joined the race to land highly-rated Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to reports.
The 21-year-old could cost the Red Devils a whopping £90million as competition for his signature hots up.
Manchester City, Tottenham and Barcelona have been closely tracking the powerful talent.
Reports in France claim United could flex their financial muscle in January as boss Jose Mourinho attempts to land his January transfer targets early doors.
Houssem Aouar
ARSENAL are the latest club to have put tabs on Houssem Aouar as they look for a potential replacement for departing Aaron Ramsey.
The Lyon midfielder is a wanted man across Europe thanks to his impressive form of late, but Arsenal want to have first refusal on the hotshot as they look to fill a void.
Aouar's superb form hasn't gone unnoticed, as several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester City, have been impressed by his technical ability and creativity.
The 20-year-old is an all round midfielder who has come through the Ligue 1 side's ranks and has already managed five goals and four assists across all competitions this season.
Nabil Fekir
HAVING missed out on a move to Liverpool at the 11th hour last summer, Chelsea may be the ones to bring him to the Prem.
The Frenchman, 25, was on the verge of completing a £52million switch but the Reds pulled out.
Jurgen Klopp wanted Fekir - who can operate on either flank or behind the striker - to add creativity and a goal threat in midfield.
And now Maurizi Sarri's Chelsea may swoop in instead - but it could set them back £52million.
Maxwell Cornet
THIS skillful and speedy forward could also be heading to West London... but to the Cottage rather than the Bridge.
Fulham are planning an £18million move for the Ivory Coast ace who was a key figure in the team that stunned Manchester City.
Cornet, 21, was available as Lyon looked to cash in on their hot prospect.
Fulham felt the asking price was too high at the time but his performances since have made it look sensible.
The Premier League club base many of their moves on the player’s value and potential sell-on worth so now see Cornet as a smart investment.
Ferland Mendy
WITH Arsenal's long-running French connection, the North London club has been linked with left-back Mendy.
Many at the Emirates Stadium believe his attacking ability would suit the Gunners in a wing-back position.
Mendy has been bursting down the left for Lyon this season.
But he is still lacking defensively and that would be a concern for Unai Emery as he aims to improve that section of the Gunners.
