MAN UNITED'S 17-year-old boy wonder Mason Greenwood has been called-up to Jose Mourinho's first-team tonight.
The attacking midfielder is among the substitutes at Old Trafford for the Champions League tie against Valencia.
Greenwood has been one of the most exciting young prospects at United in recent years.
The teenager has been thriving despite playing two years above himself, and a first-team call-up was anticipated.
Greenwood has earned favourable comparisons with Paul Pogba, with his rangy running style and strength making him difficult to knock off the ball.
He also plays as a striker and he's had admirers outside of Old Trafford, too.
Man City have cast hopeful glances in his direction but United are determined not to lose him.
Red Devils had been desperate to get Greenwood tied down to a contract to avoid an embarrassing departure.
And he's shone for England, too, as a key figure in the U17s.
Although a natural left footer, he is equally capable with his right, and will use either when taking free kicks – a fact that has regularly amused his youth coaches.
Of course there have been plenty of highly-rated teenagers who have come to grief over the final couple of hurdles when looking destined to go all the way.
But those close to Greenwood insist he is level headed, sensible and down to earth.
And he may get his opportunity from the bench tonight.
