Cesc Fabregas frustrated at lack of first-team football at Chelsea and could be off in January
The 31-year-old midfielder is rumoured to be moving to AC Milan in the transfer window after four years at Stamford Bridge
CESC FABREGAS has revealed his frustration as a bit-part player under Maurizio Sarri.
Chelsea's World Cup winning midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season but could be on his way next month when the transfer window opens — with Italian side AC Milan keen admirers of the 31-year-old.
Fabregas is yet to start a Premier League game almost halfway through the season.
He said: “I know what my role is. Unfortunately it's not the one I want. I'm keeping it professional as usual.
"I'm always trying to do my best, in the conditions, playing with the youngsters, playing with the first team, even though this year I still haven't played with the full, full first team one game.
“But, I'm trying to do what I can. It's a difficult situation for me, obviously. I'm playing the cups and the Europa League.

"I don't give up. I'm not someone who you'll see complaining or not giving his all because of that.
“I'll always be there showing my face when needed and if the time comes the time comes. We'll see what happens.”
Fabregas insists he is not thinking about a January move but is one of several senior squad players growing impatient over lack of game time.
Club skipper Gary Cahill feels the same and has been linked to a move to rivals Arsenal.
Defender Andreas Christensen has also expressed concern about falling down the pecking order - particularly for Premier League games.
Fabregas also hit out at last night’s match referee Aleksandar Stavrev for his handling of the gritty 2-2 draw in the Europa League.
Chelsea were forced to come from behind against the Hungarian minnows in their final group game.
Fabregas said: “The referee was probably one of the worst I've seen in my whole career, a disaster. The free-kicks he was giving to them, he was giving them everything.
"It's like for a favour or because he felt they were weaker than us. I couldn't understand some of the decisions he gave. It was frustrating.
“Apart from that we tried to do what we can with the game time that we have. It wasn't the best conditions. We wanted to win.
"The team pushed in the end to find a winner which is a good thing to see. We just have to look forward now.
“We knew it was going to be a difficult game. They could still qualify. We changed the whole team again. Minus one degrees, the pitch was terrible.”
