GARY NEVILLE has passionately insisted he will NEVER return to Manchester United... as he's "not fit for purpose".
The Old Trafford legend, 43, has claimed he is not planning to return to his former club, with all focus on non-league Salford City.
Neville added United should stop focusing on sentimental signings and go after the best in the business.
When asked if he'd consider a return at some stage, Neville said: “Absolutely not. I am not fit for purpose at that football club.
“I own Salford, a non-league, National League club. I love what we are doing here.
"Absolutely no way in a million years I would ever get employed at Manchester United.
“And secondly should I be employed at Manchester United, it would be in 15 or 20 years time - if I go and prove myself as an incredible sporting director... which I am not planning to do.
“This needs to be the best in class, internationally. We have to take emotion out of it. ‘Get him back!’
"No, get the best people, who have run the best clubs in the world and reset properly.”
United sacked Jose Mourinho yesterday with the club closer to last place than first in the league, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking charge for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, since the Special One was sacked, a number of stories have crept out of the woodwork - including him snubbing the traditional staff Christmas dinner.
On top of that, it's been revealed Mourinho turned down Ryan Giggs due to his eight-year affair with his brother's wife
