HUDDERSFIELD TOWN are signing Jason Puncheon from Crystal Palace in a shock deal.
The wide man headed to Yorkshire to complete a deal for the rest of the season to join David Wagner’s strugglers.
Puncheon, 32, has been out of favour at Palace this season but has the kind of experience that Wagner wants for his survival fight.
The winger will replace Rajiv van la Parra who left for Middlesbrough and has a full time move to play for.
Puncheon is out of contract at Selhurst Park in the summer and won’t get a new deal, so he can stay with the Terriers if he impresses.
The English midfielder has stepped out for Roy Hodgson's just five times this season and spent most of last season on the sideline but the loan spell could give him the opportunity to revive his career.
Wagner's side sit four points adrift at the bottom of the table, having lost 14 of their 20 games thus far.
They host fellow strugglers Burnley this evening in their first match of the year.
Last year the players enjoyed a raucous night to celebrate another year in the top flight, but they need a miracle if they plan to celebrate in the same manner at the end of this season.
