Bayern make improved £30m bid for Chelsea winger Hudson-Odoi

Blues may find it hard to resist such a big fee for a player with only 18 months left on his current contract

BAYERN MUNICH have come back with an improved £30m bid for Chelsea wonderkid Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Blues rejected Bayern’s previous £20m offer for the teenage winger.

But the German giants are determined to sign Hudson-Odoi, 18, and have returned with a package worth £30m including add-on clauses.

Chelsea may find it hard to resist such a big fee for a player with only 18 months left on his current contract.

Hudson-Odoi has refused to sign the new deal on the table and is keen to move on from Stamford Bridge in search of more first-team opportunities.

And Chelsea's £58m swoop for Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic will only have strengthened his desire to join Bayern.

Hudson-Odoi, who was part of England’s Under-17 World Cup-winning team of 2017, finally made his first Premier League appearance of the season as substitute against Watford on Boxing Day.

But Hudson-Odoi was himself taken off before the end of the match, having been on the field for just 42 minutes.

Otherwise, the talented youngster has been limited to appearances in the Europa League. On his only start of the season, he scored and provided an assist against PAOK Salonika.

Many Chelsea fans are upset at the prospect of losing such a highly-rated product of their Academy.

But Hudson-Odoi wants to try his luck elsewhere and fancies joining former England youth team-mate Jadon Sancho in the Bundesliga.
