Arsenal ‘near’ Suarez swoop as Emery acts quick to find Ramsey replacement

Reports claim Gunners boss Unai Emery has swooped to bring his former Sevilla midfielder to the Emirates in January

ARSENAL are reportedly on the verge of completing a deal to sign Denis Suarez from Barcelona.

The 24-year-old is struggling for action with the La Liga giants and has been restricted to just six appearances this season.

Summer arrivals Arthur and Arturo Vidal are currently ahead of the Spanish midfielder at Barca.

And with stalwarts Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic also standing in his way, it seems the ace is heading for the Nou Camp exit door.

Sky Sport Italia reporter claims Arsenal boss Unai Emery is now closing-in on a swoop to take him to the Emirates.

And Spanish publication say it will be for a figure over the £8.5million mark.

Emery knows Suarez well from their time together at Sevilla and is believed to have persuaded the star to reunite with him in the Premier League.

According to Di Marzio’s claims, both AC Milan and Roma were also keen on recruiting the the former Manchester City ace this month.

But it is Arsenal who are reported to have won the race and will wrap up the deal over the coming days.

The Gunners are set to lose Aaron Ramsey to Juventus when his contract expires in June and need a creative replacement.

Emery is well-stocked with midfielders, but Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi and Mohamed Elneny do not offer the same attacking threat as the Welshman.

Now it looks like he has moved quickly to bring in reinforcements quickly.
