OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER made it five wins from five thanks to goals from Juan Mata and Romelu Lukaku.
The interim Manchester United boss saw his side beat Reading 2-0 to make a routine passage into the FA Cup fourth round.
Mata gave the hosts the lead after a lengthy VAR delay which saw Fred's goal ruled out but the penalty given for a trip on Mata.
Lukaku made it two on the stroke of half-time as he rounded Anssi Jaakkola and slotted home.
Sergio Romero
Had more to do than he would have probably imagined but did it all with competence. Held on to a tough free-kick, made a crucial one-on-one save and tipped one around the post to keep his clean sheet intact.
Diogo Dalot
Looking more and more comfortable in the weight of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's former No20 jersey at Old Trafford. Got up and down the right flank well and will almost certainly be a stalwart at full-back for many years.
Latest Manchester United news
Matteo Darmian
Deployed in an unfamiliar centre-back role and at times struggled to deal with the Reading front line. At one point just let a Reading player run past him and get a shot away. Could well have now played his final game for Manchester United.
Phil Jones
Recovered well to make a number of fine tackles and interceptions. Was the leader of the centre-back pairing and was strong throughout, using his class and experience to ride some of the rough patches in the first half.
Ashley Young
Captained the side again in exemplary fashion and was a constant outlet down the United left. Almost set up Marouane Fellaini for a third after a determined run
Scott McTominay
Took an early whack which could have forced him off but soldiered on in midfield. A real presence in the middle of the park, assured and mature. His performance sitting in midfield could earn him a regular starting spot in the Premier League again before too long. Among United's standout performers.
Andreas Pereira
Huffed and puffed in midfield trying to create something from midfield but did nothing to really suggest he deserves a new deal - especially when you consider McTominay's excellence - until the very last minute when his strike was tipped wide.
Fred
Had his neat finish ruled out for offside before Mata stuck away the penalty. Did not have a major influence on the game after the goal and came off with an hour gone.
Juan Mata
Thought he had an assist but then had the chance to grab the goal himself from the spot - and did so, expertly firing into the bottom corner. Linked up well in attack but will need to keep performing in order to earn a contract extension.
Romelu Lukaku
Bullied the Reading defenders and scored for the third game in a row which will be a massive boost for both him and Solskjaer. Timed his run just before the break well as he took it past the goalkeeper and squeezed it in from a tight angle.
Alexis Sanchez
Making his first start since November 7 and showed glimpses of excellence. Was involved in the passing exchange before Mata's penalty and threaded Lukaku through to make it 2-0. Appeared to suffer a recurrence of his hamstring injury and hobbled off, worryingly. Managed to nick Solskjaer's seat when he came off and was quickly put back in his place.

Tahith Chong
The 19-year-old received a hero's welcome when he entered the frame after an hour and every touch was cheered. Immediately looked to drive forward and create. Even when he misplaced his pass, he was quick enough to receive it himself but was booked for an accumulation of niggling fouls. Watch out for this lad
Marouane Fellaini
Replaced Fred on the hour mark. Tried a flick from close range soon after coming on when Young did well down the left. Just got the ball caught under his feet and he couldn't stab it in.
Marcus Rashford
Unexpectedly thrown into the mix when Sanchez pulled up and operated on the left-wing. Provided a comical moment late on when he stood on the ball and fell over - fortunately there was no damage done and he saw the funny side.
