WOLVES are trying to beat Juventus and Inter in a £13.5million race for frontman Francisco Antonio Trincao.

The Portuguese starlet, 19, is Sporting Braga’s prize asset but they are resigned to losing him to one of Europe’s top leagues.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo rates the striker very highly and hopes the club, through sporting director Kevin Thelwell, can do a deal.

Juventus and Inter have been interested in the player since the summer.

But Wolves hope Trincao’s links to agent Jorge Mendes, with their own close relationship to him, will sway things in their favour.

Trincao is a Portugal Under 20 star and won the golden boot in the European U19 Championships last summer.

He is yet to break into the Braga first team but Nuno thinks the player can progress into Wolves first team soon.

Meanwhile, SunSport understands Wolves could also be in for Tammy Abraham.

They want Chelsea to recall the striker from his loan move at Aston Villa.

And they are ready to offer him wages of £120,000-a-week once an £18m move is complete.
