How Chelsea could line up at end of January transfer window with FIVE new additions

CHELSEA have already been one of the most active Premier League teams in the January transfer window so far.

Maurizio Sarri has already completed the £58million buy of Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic, while hoping to achieve a hatful of other deals.

With USA star Pulisic not linking up with his team-mates until the summer, we take a look at what Sarri wants now.

With Gonzalo Higuain tipped to finally be the man to end Chelsea's centre-forward struggles, we take a look at how Chelsea could line-up for the rest of the season.

GOALKEEPER

AFTER splashing a world-record £71.6m to sign Kepa from Athletic Bilbao in the summer, he's here to stay.

While the Spaniard hasn't quite enjoyed as solid a start to life in the Premier League as £68m man Alisson, he's shown signs he could be the Blues No1 for years to come.

Sarri will absolutely not look for a new goalkeeper this month... or at least, not a starting No1.

DEFENCE

CHELSEA'S defence has been far less settled than normal this season.

David Luiz is still error prone, Gary Cahill is all set to leave having barely played and Andreas Christensen has bizarrely found game-time hard to come by.

Hummels could finally leave Germany, with Sarri more than keen to land the experienced, superstar centre-half in a £30m deal.

Meanwhile, Napoli's Hysaj could be just the man to nail down the right-back spot, with Cesar Azpilicueta atypically inconsistent in 2018-19.

MIDFIELD

ONCE again Kante has proven he can do it all for the Blues - even thriving in a more advanced role this term to accommodate summer buy Jorginho.

However, the third slot in the midfield trio has been a revolving door this season, with Ross Barkley, Cesc Fabregas, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mateo Kovacic just a few to have a go.

Sarri could raid Serie A once more and go for youngster Barella, currently of Cagliari, as their long-term option in the middle of the park.

FORWARDS

THERE'S no mistaking the fact Hazard would walk into any front-three in the world.

But aside from him, it's been tough for Chelsea this season, with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud struggling mightily in the middle.

On the other flank, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Willian and Pedro have all had a crack but failed to make the starting spot their own.

With Higuain set to link up with the Blues this week, they could also turn to yet another Serie A star, Mauro Icardi, to complete their fearsome front-three.

With Hazard, Higuain and Icardi, Chelsea could finally compete with the dangerous attacking ranks of Liverpool and Manchester City - unlike now, with goal-shy Morata and Giroud.
