Gabbiadini posts heartfelt goodbye to Southampton fans after Sampdoria move
Italian forward takes to Twitter to bid farewell to Saints as he returns to club he previously played for
MANOLO GABBIADINI posted an emotional farewell message to Southampton fans who took him to their hearts during his two years at the club.
The Italian forward is returning to old club Sampdoria who he first joined in July 2013.
The 27-year-old took to to express his gratitude for some of his most memorable moments at the club.
As well as mentioning the "Lamborghini" chant Saints fans had for him, the striker also referenced his winner away at Swansea last season that propelled the club closer to Premier League safety.
Starting with "Dear Saints fans" he said: ";I will never forget your marvellous support at Wembley in one of the best days in my football career and in my life.
"I will never forget your explosion of joy at Swansea after my goal and after our massive win in May."

The Italian scored 12 goals in 60 appearances for Southampton but has recently struggled to recapture his early Premier League form that made him such a favourite with fans.
Claude Puel bought him to the club in January 2017 and he proved an instant success scoring four goals in 11 Premier League matches before the end of the season.
He moves back to Sampdoria where he played between 2013 and 2015 before moving to Napoli.
Gabbiadini signed off his heartfelt tweet in positive fashion and he will be remembered fondly at St Mary's.
He said: "I'm so glad to have been part of your history in these two years and to have been the protagonist of these two great moments.
"It's time to say goodbye, time to wish you best luck, time to think at the future. Gabbi."
