Chelsea target Higuain wants to leave AC Milan, confirms Gennaro Gattuso
Striker is on loan with Milan from Juventus, but seemingly he fancies a move to the Premier League
AC MILAN boss Gennaro Gattuso has confirmed striker Gonzalo Higuain wants to leave the club.
The Argentine international is on loan there from Juventus, but Chelsea have been linked with a January move for the 31-year-old.
Sky Sports is reporting that Higuain has told Gattuso that he wants to leave the club this month.
Gattuso's team beat Sampdoria 2-0 in extra time to reach the Coppa Italia quarter-finals and afterwards the coach admitted he faced a fight to keep the 31-year-old Higuain at the club.
He told Milan TV: "We have a very open relationship, we say things to each others faces, Gattuso told Milan TV.
"There is great honesty. When a player makes certain choices, it becomes difficult to convince him otherwise. One can try.
"At the moment, he is a Milan player and were holding on tight. I don't know what will happen.
"We are honest with each other and I want him to maintain the same attitude, which has never been lacking."
Higuain, who has scored eight goals in all competitions for Milan this season, has been named in the squad that will travel to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia to face Juventus in the Italian Supercup on Wednesday.

The Blues are desperately looking for a striker to provide a cutting edge for Maurizio Sarri's side.
And the Premier League club is now locked in complicated negotiations with Juventus and AC Milan over the Argentine international.
Higuain, 31, is spending the season on loan at the San Siro from Juve which means both clubs need to be consulted in the deal.
However Chelsea believe a short-term transfer for the forward will be completed this month.
While there have been other players in different positions linked with a move to West London, the club have made the capture of Higuain their number one priority.
