Suarez, Isco and Pavon: Five Mesut Ozil replacements for Arsenal… if they can afford them
Unai Emery dropped the midfielder for this weekend's defeat to West Ham amid claims that he could leave the club this month
MESUT OZIL'S future remains under the microscope at Arsenal - but Unai Emery has limited options when it comes to replacing him.
The Gunners boss has not been given a transfer budget and will only be able to bring players in on loan this month.
But the north London giants have been linked with a number of potential candidates to replace Ozil, so SunSport have pulled together the five most likely options.
Denis Suarez
The Barcelona star, 25, has emerged as Emery's top target to bolster his midfield this month.
It is reported that the Gunners have agreed terms with the Spanish star, but cannot afford his mere £10 million asking price.
Arsenal will allegedly continue talks with the versatile midfielder this week in a desperate attempt to finalise a loan move.
Suarez is looking for regular first-team football after struggling to cement his spot in Barcelona's squad since he joined from Villarreal in 2016.
Cristian Pavon
Arsenal were linked with a £40m swoop for the Boca Juniors star last month, but this is no longer an option because of the lack of transfer funds.
Emery will now have to consider signing the 11-cap Argentina international on loan.
He would suit Arsenal's system, but it is understood that his agents have been in contact with a number of Europe's biggest clubs.

The 22-year-old has been with the Argentine giants since 2014 when he joined from local rivals Talleres in a £1m deal.
Isco
The 26-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Bernabeu this season following the arrival of Santiago Solari.
Arsenal have been linked to him in recent seasons and could be set to reignite their interest this month.
But Real Madrid value the 26-year-old at around £70m - which is way out of Emery's price range.
Juventus have also been linked to the Spain international, but the La Liga club have asked for Paulo Dybala in a swap deal.
Yannick Carrasco
The 25-year-old's wife confirmed that a number of clubs have indicated interest in the Belgium international this month.
Speaking to RTBF, she said: "There are lots of clubs looking at him. Lots of clubs have been in touch with him. Lots of clubs are interested.
"Yannick has revealed offers from Germany, Spain, England and Italy but nothing has been truly concrete up to now, nothing has been signed."
It is reported that Carrasco is keen to move from away Chinese club Dailian Yifan after just one year.
Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United, who could both financially overpower Emery, have also been linked.
Hector Herrera
The Porto midfielder will become a free agent at the end of the season and he has reportedly turned down offers to extend his deal.
Herrera has started 12 of the club's last 16 Primera Liga games and all six of their games in the Champions League.
But the Gunners will face a battle against the likes of Inter Milan and Roma to secure his signature.
Emery could be forced to hold out until the summer to sign him as Porto are not expected to want him to ship him out on loan.
